Daily Kefiw Score Strategy
What ranks you in each of the three boards, and the tradeoffs people miss.
Hunt rewards information per guess. Hive rewards pangram-hunting before long-word grinding. Sudoku rewards technique, not speed-tapping.
Each of the three daily games ranks on a different axis. Playing them well means knowing what the board rewards — and the worst thing you can do is optimize for the wrong axis.
Part of: Daily Challenges
Quick answer
Hunt rewards information per guess. Hive rewards pangram-hunting before long-word grinding. Sudoku rewards technique, not speed-tapping.
Key points
- ▸ Hunt ranks on guess count — fewer is better. A solve in 3 beats a solve in 4, regardless of time.
- ▸ Hive ranks on points — more is better. Pangrams are +7 bonus on top of their length score. Prioritize finding at least one.
- ▸ Sudoku ranks on time to solve — seconds matter, but only on cleared grids. An unfinished solve does not appear.
- ▸ Cleared-only rule means unfinished runs are invisible. A 14-minute sudoku that you never completed is not on the board.
- ▸ In Hunt, opening with a high-information word (balanced vowels + common consonants) is worth more than going for a "lucky" guess.
- ▸ In Hive, finding one pangram is usually worth more than 5–6 short words. Look for suffix patterns (-ING, -ATION) early.
- ▸ In Sudoku, the difficulty rotates by weekday — Sun/Mon are easy (42 clues), Tue–Thu medium (34 clues), Fri/Sat hard (28 clues). Plan your week.
Examples
- Hunt opener that ranksCRANE as first guess covers five of the top six most common letters in English 5-letter words. A solve in 3 gets you in the top 10% on most days; a solve in 2 is top-tier.
- Hive pangram huntDay's letters are A D G I N R W, center R. Before grinding for short words, test -ING endings: WARRING, DARING. Test prefixes: DRAWING. The first pangram — often under 8 letters — gives you +7 and a Genius-tier push.
- Sudoku FridayYou open Friday's board expecting easy. 28 clues. Heavy pencil marks from minute one. If you rank on Fridays, you rank on technique, not speed-tapping.

Frequently asked questions
› Does a faster Hunt solve rank higher than a slower one with the same guess count?
No. Hunt ranks on guess count only. Two players both solving in 3 are tied — earliest submitted breaks the tie.
› What is the max Hive score? Definition
It depends on the day. The daily set's max = sum of all valid words' points (pangrams included). You can see progress as "points / max" on the Hive page. Queen Bee tier = finding them all.
› Is there a time cap on Sudoku? Trust & accuracy
The board caps at 30 minutes (1800s). Anything beyond that still counts as a clear but ranks at the bottom of the cleared list.
› How should I use this guide with a Kefiw tool? How-to
Use the guide as the plan and the linked Kefiw tool as the check. Read the steps first, try the move manually, then use the tool to compare outputs, catch edge cases, and decide whether the result actually fits your task.
› What mistake do tool guides help avoid? Troubleshooting
Tool guides help avoid using a utility mechanically without understanding what you are trying to accomplish. Most word, writing, and text utilities are fast, but speed can hide context mistakes. Know whether you are solving a puzzle, cleaning copy, drafting a line, or checking a rule.
