WBGT assumes a healthy acclimatised adult in light clothing — break any of those and the safe band shifts down.

WBGT is measured on a black globe and a wet thermometer in light summer clothing equivalent. Put someone in structural firefighting turnout gear, or a 75-year-old on beta blockers, or an acclimatised 25-year-old in shorts, and the safe heat band for each is different. Here are the big adjustments.
