Letters known to be not in the word. Green and yellow letters are auto-excluded from this.

Enter greens, yellows, and grays above to narrow candidates.

How to use

  1. Enter the letter in each box — the box defaults to green (correct position).
  2. Tap the caption below any box to cycle through green → yellow (present, wrong spot) → empty.
  3. Add fully-gray letters (not in the word) in the wrong-letters field.
  4. Use the frequency tip to pick a guess that eliminates the most remaining candidates.

Examples

CRANE guess
If C and A are yellow and the rest are gray, enter C (yellow), A (yellow) at their positions, and RNE in the wrong-letters box. The solver narrows to all 5-letter words containing C and A but without R, N, or E.

Before you use the result

Word tools can narrow options, clean text, or show patterns, but they do not know the rules of every puzzle, class assignment, publication style, or house dictionary. Check the result against the context where you plan to use it.

For learning, review why a result matched instead of copying the first answer. That keeps the tool useful as practice, not only lookup.

Frequently asked questions

Does this cheat at Wordle?

It is a solver, not an auto-submit bot. It narrows candidates — you still choose which one to play.

Which dictionary is used?

The game-style ENABLE list, which is close to the Wordle accepted-guess list.

Can the same letter be both green and yellow in one guess? Trust & accuracy

Yes — if a letter appears twice in the answer, one can be green and another yellow.
