Semantic guessing — a curated warmth map rates each guess 1-1000; climb the signal bar from Frozen to Scorching to lock the target.

A hidden target word waits behind the prompt. Each guess is scored 1–1000 based on how closely it relates to the target; the signal bar tracks your warmest guess. Related words you might never have thought to try pull you in; unrelated words stay frozen.

How to use

  1. Type any English word and hit Send. The console scores it against the curated proximity map.
  2. Watch the Signal Strength bar track your warmest guess. Cool → Warm → Hot → Scorching.
  3. Unrecognized words are rejected; recognized English words outside the map still register a faint "frozen" score.
  4. Lock the signal at 1000 by guessing the target word.

Examples

Core concept
A guess tightly tied to the target returns a Scorching score (900+).
Adjacent concept
A related but indirect word returns a Warm-Cool score (400–700).
Unrelated word
A valid English word with no semantic tie stays Frozen (1–12).

Before you judge the score

Treat the score as feedback on one short practice round. It may reflect speed, attention, memory, or familiarity with the format, not overall ability.

› How are scores calculated? How-to

Each level hardcodes a proximity map — curated warmth scores between 1 and 999 for hundreds of semantically related words. The target itself is 1000.

› Are valid English words without a score still accepted?

Yes — the ENABLE word list is used to accept recognized English words and assign them a low Frozen score so you can see they registered.
